This National Historic Site was the birthplace of the Canadian confederation in 1864 and is home to the Prince Edward Island's Legislative Assembly. Constructed between 1843 and 1847 following the Neoclassical architectural tradition, its location in downtown Charlottetown makes it a convenient stop along any trip into the island's provincial capital. Visitors can tour the building, view preserved 1860s period rooms and even watch the Legislative Assembly in action.
