Site of the world famous 1950 FIFA World Cup and home to the major football clubs of Rio de Janeiro, Maracana is the largest stadium in Brazil and the second largest in South America. Recently renovated for the 2014 World Cup, the stadium now houses 78,838 and features white, blue, and yellow seats - which, alongside the green of the field, forms the national colors of the Brazilian flag. It will host the opening and closing ceremonies of the upcoming 2016 Summer Olympics.
