This small fishing village is widely considered as the most picturesque along the Asturian coast. Cudillero is renowned for its pastel-painted houses that tumble down to its tiny port on a narrow inlet. Legend has it that Cudillero was founded by the Vikings. Today, its two most important attractions are its Gothic parish church, which dates from the 16th century and contains outstanding baroque carvings; and the chapel of Humilladero, which is the oldest structure in town.
