This charming Cotswold gem is the largest town in the district. Cirencester is known for its Victorian architecture and quaint market square, the heart of the town and preferred gathering place. During Roman times, Cirencester was second only to London in terms of size and importance, and today still has grassed-over ruins of one of the largest amphitheaters in England. Not to be missed is St. John the Baptist’s Church, one of the country’s largest parish churches.
