This neighborhood of Sevilla is one of the most popular areas of the city with its cobblestone streets, outdoor cafes, numerous public squares and lively atmosphere. Santa Cruz began as the city's Jewish Quarter because Ferdinand III ordered all of the Jewish residents into one area during the late 1300s. Notable sites in Santa Cruz are the grand Cathedral of Sevilla, Plaza de Santa Cruz, Cruz de la Cerrajeria and Hospital de los Venerables.
